You are a Unique Commodity

Speech and Drama certainly nurtures a passion for the arts, but it also builds a lot of other foundational communication skills which a transferable across every industry. I just recently read an article on a panel discussion I had at Snapchat earlier this year, as a female leader in tech.

Many people are often surprised to learn the I own a technology company as well as working in the creative arts, largely because of their assumption that the two are so different. But a huge part of being a founder and CEO is presenting - whether it's a pitch, a boardroom meeting, a media event or a leadership opportunity. I feel comfortable to speak in front of a crowd, connect with new people and share my ideas because of the very clever decision my mum made in 1997 when she enrolled me in speech and drama.
